What is the difference between active and inactive Manuka honey?

Some Manuka honey contains levels of MGO and some do not, once the bees make honey from Manuka pollen the bee keepers test the honey for MGO content.  The Manuka honey is graded according to MGO levels, the higher the activity the higher the price of the honey.  Nutradry offers “Non-active” which contains little or no MGO but still contains all the other benefits of Manuka honey and we also offer an active honey which contains a minimum level of MGO 100+ in the finished powder.  Anything higher than 100 mg/kg is considered antibacterial.
